Massachusetts State Police Announce Roadblock

The Massachusetts State Police announced on December 13, 2010 that they will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint, better known as a roadblock on December 17 in Suffolk County. It is always best to avoid drinking and driving, yet if you are stopped at a roadblock and you have been drinking it is likely that you will be asked to perform field sobriety tests. According to a recent SJC rulings the odor of alcohol alone is enough to inquire further of the driver. It is your right to refuse to do any tests and your refusal will not be used against you in court. For that matter it cannot even be mentioned in court.

If you or someone you know has been charged with OUI or DUI in Massachusetts you need to contact an experienced criminal defense attorney.
