Attorney General Prosecutes Employment Fraud Case
According to the Boston Globe,Gustavo Pina, 29 of Saugus was indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury on Thursday on 22 counts of unemployment fraud. Mr. Pina allegedly collected more than $13,000 in jobless benefits while working. According to Prosecutors Pina was working full time at a mortgage company while collecting the benefits from August 2007 to January 2008. He earned $24,000 on the job during that period. The case against Mr. Pina is being prosecuted by the Massachusetts Attorney General's Ofiice.
The charges against Mr. Pina are what are described as white collar offenses. Attorney Patrick Donovan handled white collar prosecution while he was a prosecutor in Norfolk County.
