State Police Roadblock 2/26- Suffolk County
The Massachusetts State Police has issued a press release stating that they have planned a Sobriety Checkpoint Saturday February 26, 2010 into Sunday February 27, 2010 in Suffolk County. Suffolk county consists of Boston,Revere, Chelsea, and Wintrop.
Sobriety Checkpoints or roadblocks and legal in Massachusetts if the police administer the roadblock according to a written plan. The rule in Massachusetts is that the police have to strictly comply with the written plans.
If you are stopped at a sobriety checkpoint or roadblock, and you have been drinking chances are you are going to asked to do field sobriety tests. You may refuse field sobriety tests. It is your right. The Massachusetts State Police operate on a zero tolerance policy at roadblock so if you are arrested remember to be polite and contact a lawyer.
