Captain Kennan to Be Named the Quincy Chief of Police

Captain Paul Kennan has been selected by a group led by the Norfolk County Sheriff to replace the retiring Chief Crowley. Cpt. Kennan joined the Quincy Police in 1983 as a patrolman. He earned his degree in criminal justice and human services at Southern New Hampshire University and a master's degree in criminal justice at Curry College. According to the Patriot Ledger Cpt. Kennan, "made sergeant in 1991 and lieutenant in 1995. He ran the detective bureau for a period and was promoted to captain in 2005, taking command of the day shift, traffic bureau, communications branch and special events." Captain Kennan is also the brother in-law of Quincy Mayor Koch.
