Boston Man Attempts to Make Good on Arson Threat

Boston Police responded to 15 Abbot Street in the early morning on the report of a house fire. Horace White, 51 of Roxbury admitted to the Police he had set the fire. Mr. White told police that he was "wrong." Mr. White appeared to the officers that he been drinking. According Mr. White he had been drinking with a "friend" who stole his gold chain. Mr. White then demanded his chain back. When the friend did not return the chain, Mr White then left and bought some gasoline, using it to try to burn the house down. Police learned from witnesses that Mr. White had tried to reignite the fire when it burned out. Witnesses also told police that Mr. White said that he would burn the house down if he did not get his chain back. Mr. White has been charged with Arson.
